Please welcome the members elected to serve in the Advisory Group for the National Digital Stewardship Residency (NDSR) program in 2019:
- Snowden Becker
- Ashley Blewer
- Peggy Griesinger
- Charlotte Kostelic
- Shira Peltzman
- Dave Rice
- Coral Salomón
These leaders in digital stewardship were elected by their peers in current and completed residency projects in order to provide continuity and strategic vision for NDSR’s cohort-based model of fieldwork and education in issues of national significance to the digital record.
Since 2013, NDSR has built a community of professionals dedicated to advancing our nation’s capabilities in managing, preserving, and making accessible the digital record of human achievement. More than 50 current and completed projects have since been designed and hosted by cultural heritage and memory institutions around the nation and in coordination with international partners. They have introduced emerging professionals and their host mentors to the defining issues, communities, colleagues, and contexts of digital stewardship through fieldwork that impacts practice well beyond the boundaries of their projects and institutions.
The NDSR Advisory Group was convened in 2017 in order to coordinate resources and support among the decentralized community of NDSR projects and cohorts and to steward its future into new communities. They are a resource to current program participants and stakeholders seeking advice and direction on their projects, aspirant program creators seeking administrative and financial guidance, and partners throughout the digital stewardship community who wish to build upon the NDSR model. The group elected to serve these needs in 2019 will meet for the first time in early January, after which they will share more about their specific plans and ambitions for the future.
